We are writing to let you know about a consultation launched today on our Local Plan.  Local plans contain policies that are used when determining planning applications, and identify key locations for where major new planned housing developments will take place.  A new study of housing need in Oxfordshire has indicated that more housing is needed than we’ve planned for in our current local plan.  We are therefore starting the process of preparing a new local plan, and want your views to help shape it.  In this Issues and Scope consultation we ask what the plan should cover and explore some options for where the additional homes, jobs and infrastructure could go. 

 

The following documents are available to view at council offices, all local libraries in South Oxfordshire and on-line at  <http://www.southoxon.gov.uk/newlocalplan> www.southoxon.gov.uk/newlocalplan   

 

*         South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2031 Issues and Scope

 

*         Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report for the Local Plan 2031 (this document proposes the sustainability appraisal framework against which options for the Local Plan will be tested to understand how sustainable each option is)

 

The consultation runs until Wednesday 23 July 2014. 

 

To respond we encourage you to fill in the online questionnaire on our website at  <http://www.southoxon.gov.uk/newlocalplan> www.southoxon.gov.uk/newlocalplan or email us your comments, as these are the quickest and cheapest methods of replying. However, if you prefer, comment forms are obtainable where the documents are available to view and on our web-site.

Finally, we are consulting on our Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report in relation to the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2031.  You can view this information and comment by visiting consult.southandvale.gov.uk/south.
